| | The Double Jazz Guitar Forum Contest Hi Gang,
It's time for another contest! In fact, it's time for 2 contests! Contest N°1: Posting Contest First Price: Band in a Box 2007 (or its equivalent in books available on this site; $97.75 value) How to win: you win by making the most posts between now and September 6 (that's 4 weeks).
All posts should be on topic and of a certain quality (as determined by me, simple one liners for example don't count). Posting content copied from another website and promoting other websites is not allowed. Contest N°2: Referral Contest First Price: Band in a Box 2007 (or its equivalent in books available on this site; $97.75 value) How to win: you win by reffering the most friends to this forum between now and September 6.
How it works: - On top of this message you click Thread Tools, then Email This Page. Here's a screenshot:
 - You put the name and email of a friend you want to refer to this forum in the email editor. There's a link in the message window that contains your unique ID, so when your friend registers at the forum, I know it is you who referred him. Type a message to your friend, tell him about the jazz guitar forum and the contest. Change the subject of the mail if you like. It counts as a referral when your friend registers himself and makes some posts. Here's a screenshot of the email editor:
 - Send the message and repeat for another friend. You win by making the most (registered) referrals.
Please, only mail people you know and people who have an interest in jazz guitar. No spamming or tricks!
Good luck!

| | Now where's that address book....... Looks like I'll have to be spending more time on the computer....
(edit - I only have two posts!?! Guess I have to stop responding to the emails and start participating here....)
P.S. - Dirk: "The New Real Book" arrived - pretty cool stuff. Impressed with all the Lorber that's in it - now if I can only find someone around here to play it with me! Only suggestion is that the basslines included should be in bass clef rather than treble...then we could divide parts out to everyone.

| | The cards are stacked against me, here.
I'm the only person within my meat world circle that listens to Jazz, let alone making an attempt to play jazz guitar.

Well, NOW I feel right at home! I can talk about music, and have carte blank to post as much as I want without feeling guilty.
Thanks!

| | Yeah -
Most of my "buds" are in the nether region (as in bass), cause all my jazz guitar connections are my heroes. I can name the number of jazz guitar (I mean, REAL jazz guitar) players around here that I admire on two hands and still have a couple of fingers left over.

| | Around here, we're all your jazz guitar budz -- unfortunately, a jam session is out of the question when you're scattered all around the earth

At this time, I must say, I'm glad I did not win...I would spend time that I do not have with the prize. Enjoy!!!!
