| | Posting Contest!! To get things going we are going to have a posting contest. He who has made the most posts by May 11 wins the contest.
Here are the prices:
1) First price: Band in a Box 2007 ($97.75 value)
2) Second price: 1 of the 3 Master Jazz Guitar Solos ($47.90 value)
3) Third price: The Jazz Theory Book or one of the other books available on the site (max $39.97 value)
All posts should be on topic and of a certain quality (as determined by me, simple one liners for example don't count). Posting content copied from another website and promoting other websites is not allowed.
Happy Posting!

| | Thanks Jean. I agree, this site needed a forum, but I always postponed adding one because forums can be a lot of work. Luckily they can be a lot of fun as well! |

| | Extending Thanks I too would like to extend my thanks and congratulations to Dirk for providing novices like myself easy and accessible jazz lessons. Even though I have been plaing guitar for two decades, I have only recently started "studying" jazz. The gazette has given me a wealth of info in very manageable forms. Greetings and salutations to all who are in, on or accidentally stumbling across this burning missive!! Thanks again, The Fez. |

| | Your site has helped me soo much with my playing. There is so much information that its hard to start somewhere and not wander off to another topic! A forum was a great idea for the site and I like the setup of it. Im only 13 years old but I recently got into jazz guitar so your site is great. |

| | Paulo - Sweet, I wish I started when I was 13, I think I was still playing with my toy cars at that age!
Djibouti - Yes, I send out the newsletter. For those that aren't subscribed yet, you can do that here: The Jazz Guitar Gazette

| | Ideas for Surveys dirkji - I enjoyed the survey the other day regarding the best or our favorite jazz guitarist. Maybe later you could run one for the "must have" CDs for the ultimate jazz guitarist collection. What do you think? Here is a start...George Benson - This Is Jazz & Breezin'; Ron Affif - 52nd Street; Eddie Lang, Carl Kress, Dick McDonough et al - Pioneers of Jazz; Django Reinhardt - Jazz Masters 38; Emily Remler - Retrospective, Vol. 1 Standards; Pat Martino - Footprint; Wes Montgomery - Fingerpickin'; Jimmy Raney - Visits Paris, Vol. 1; Barney Kessel, Charlie Byrd & Herb Ellis - Great Guitars; Barney Kessel - Easy Like, Vol. 1 & Poll Winners Exploring the Scene; Joe Beck - Polarity. Anyway, I really enjoy this site. Have a great day! |

Cheers,

| | Thats a great idea. You will probably want to put this thread under Everything Else forum. To make a thread, click on Everything Else first. Then go to New Thread on the left side above the topics. Then, make a title(for this one Must Have CDs) and then post what you want to say and click on Submit New Thread.
