| | Video Lesson Series has Begun Greetings all.
I've been a part of this forum for a long time and so I wanted to post here first information about a new venture of video lessons for my youtube channel and my website.
These will probably be ever 2 to 4 weeks depending on response, feedback and generally how busy I am. In many ways I want this to be an open forum where if anyone has questions about Jazz Guitar in whatever ways they can ask and I can make a lesson on video for it and put it up on the web.
The Debut lesson is a scale fingering lesson that is up on youtube at the link below.
subscribe, friend or ignore whichever you wish. Either way thanks for reading and hopefully, watching. |

| | Hey Jake,
Is that one of those CFG studio grant flamenco guitars you're playing there? You know, the ones that were in the "other styles " forum |

| | A New Lesson is Available Folks I have a new lesson up on my youtube page (and probably some other vids you might have not scene of just some jam session playing)
It's about static harmony in the context of My Funny Valentine and how to get some more ideas about how to comp and blow over such a progression, and a nice little "reharm" on how I like to play the bridge.
I hope it offers some insight. |

I feel that someone could spend MONTHS exploring the chord sub concepts you touched on, and it would a very worthwhile endeavor in terms of vocab building.
Your lesson reminds me of the incredible value of exploring a single tune IN DEPTH, how really learning the ins and outs of one number positively affects and amplifies one's vocab, that will become applicable and useful in a myriad of ways, tunes, situations.
Thanks for posting! That pedal tone idea was pretty cool, at the end. |

| | Looks like I'll need to wacth this and take notes!
As often played as it is, I never get sick of "Valentine." So hearing some new things to do with it gets the hamster on the wheel, so to speak. Thanks for posting, Jake. |

| | NSJ i'm glad you find it useful, it makes it worth doing.
Jeff, I'm looking to keep this going strong. I'm planning on alternating between a technique and practical lessons but we'll see what sparks my interest. I'm always open to suggestions of course. |
