Interesting Guitar Show in Parsippany

As a guitar show,it left much to be desired. No vintage dealers;a couple of luthiers;mostly, local music merchants. I have been assured by the participants that this will be an annual event and that these shortcomings
are being adressed.

Nevertheless,I HAD A BALL!
Continuos entertainment and seminars occurred in two separate rooms for
the duration. I learned much about jazz guitar construction to achieve
your desired sound conducted by luthier,Frank Dannunzio. (my apologies
for the mispelling.) He really knows his stuff. Frank diBussolo illustrated
on several models of different size and construction.

Frank diBussolo is a guitar MONSTER! If you have the opportunity to hear
him,DO IT! He had sole billing for his performance;but, played with bassist, Ken Smith, an exhibitor. Both were consumnate pros playing
jazz, blues, bossa, etc. The solos were inspiring and Frank has a very nice voice.

First I heard of a guitar show in Parsippany. I definitely would have gone to see it. When was it? Where was it? Who organized it?

Thanks

I missed that, too. I will be going to King of Prussia this weekend for the autumn gutar show here: Bee 3 Vintage - Guitar Shows. No lectures or entertainment, but always a ton of eqipment and related products to see. It's held there twice a year, missed the spring show. Brookdale C.C. in Lincroft, NJ has a one day show with performances and lectures every year around February.

The first and last guitar show I went to was out in LI about an hour and a half drive away. I met quite a few builders there like Bill Comins, Mark Campellone and Roger Sadowsky. Howard Alden was there as well as Mark Elf and Rick Derringer. Gibson had a trailer outside. It was pretty cool.

But because of the drive I haven't been back. I'm sure the guys in Parsippany can get some top name guys to play. That's local territory for guys like Vic Juris, Dave Stryker and it's not too far from Jimmy B in Philly either.
