Default reasons for my absence

HI you'll--just go a message from these forums saying i was missed, so thought i would confess why i aint been round a while

Well i got another major block. Which was?

I was worried about my left hand technique being right. confusion about it, and if and who i could get as a geetar teacher, and a really massive personal crisis

So what do I mean the LHT? unlike other guitarists i see, MY hand doesn't seem to come round parallel to the fretboard, cause i got small hands. So it was putting me off.
I was also wondering if focussing on jazz was right cause i love Blues. So trhere was confusion there too.
But one good thing, I believe that that spell of intense learning has gone in some where and no doubt i may get the spirit again. my guitar is right near me leanin up against the wall

Don't let the guitar see the inside of a case unless you're going somewhere out of the house with it! If it's "too nice" then get another one to keep ready when you are. Also, did you ever hear or see Les Paul play with just 2 fingers the last 10-20 years? He made it work. Just play!

I know how you feel. Part of my problem with getting a block was because I was starting to feel like a guy with a term paper or final exam due, and I had not done any studying.

To be honest, I was going through a stressful time and the pressure I put on myself to learn some technically challenging songs was the straw thta broke the camel's back.

In fact, for me, when my life is unraveling, I am never able to pursue pleasurable pursuits until I get everything back in an acceptable (key word for me) state of affairs.

Once this is done, only then can I start enjoying playing the guitar again and learning. As is often said on this forum, unless you are a pro and you really need to get better to survive, then the guitar (and Jazz) is just another bit of fun in life that you are going after. I enjoy the guitar one or two chords or phrases at a time, and next thing you know, I've got an entire song!
