Help with bebop heads!

I am currently working on the standard 'move'.

the problem I have with this is, I can play it fine by myself or when someone else is playing the melody with, but I can't seem to play it in time/right when it's just me playing the head with a band, only when someone else is playing at the same time.

I have this trouble also with Oleo. played fine a bunch of times with other folks at jams and along to records but when I have to play the head by myself I can never play it!

I seem to be fine with simpler bebop heads like scrapple.

I've tried practising them with metronomes and at slow tempos but this seems to make them harder

Any help is very appreciated, as I feel like I've tried everything and feel kinda flustrated...

I also find the rhythm in the melody on Oleo to be difficult. If such problems occur for me, I usually play the tune in Transcribe! at a reasonable tempo (you can import the tune from a cd to Transcribe! and adjust the tempo) and play along... Increasing the tempo to 100% gradually. Maybe that can help.

Often, the challenging aspect of bebop rhythm has to do more with hearing the space between the phrases than the played notes.
One way too work this out is to imagine a rhythmic idea in these gaps that will easily lead to the next entrance.

Thanks that makes sence! Especially when a phrase comes in on the last half beat of the bar before or something. Cheers.
