The Dale Bruning "Phrasing and Articulation" book has some interesting ideas that I've not seen elsewhere. Nothing groundbreaking in terms of melodic content, but his approach to fingering - to make all phrases emulate the natural swinging articulation of a horn player - is something that I try to incorporate into my playing.
