Default maj7#5

Just something i do quite alot and thought id share it!

Say in a tune like footprints over the Cmin ill play an Ebmaj7#5 and it gives you a Cminmaj7, sounds cool when you use the Eb arpeggio over the Cmin!

Also I like voicing Maj7#5 chords off of the b7 of a dom7. So if the chord is F7 try playing an Ebmaj7#5 and you get F7#11. Sounds cool if you put it in a blues or a tune like nostalgia.

Also if you want to start incorporating quartal lines into your playing I suggest learning the head ot freedom jazz dance by eddie harris. The melody is a goldmine for quartal patterns and theres a cool side stepping pattern in there you can internalize and use to go a bit outside!

Just some advice...I havent posted for a while so thought Id share

Peace
