Default Don Mock books

I just got Don Mock's 'Symmetrical Scales' which explores diminished and whole tone scales. It looks a really good book, very practical, with an excellent accompanying CD. Not too heavy on theory, with lots of immediately useable lines. The whole package looks so good I went online and ordered his Melodic Minor book and the Target Note books.

Does anyone else here rate these books, have experience of them, problems, maybe, or recommendations for others?

Charlie

i have the "artful arpeggios" book and i have to say it is quite nice. shows you various fingerings of arpeggios, gives finger recommendation and a bit of theory.

i'd say it is mostly intended for beginners but it works as a good reference book. the superimposing x arpeggio over y chord to create different sounds is pretty awesome too.

I have many of Don's books, and his stuff is always top notch. I regularly recommend his "Beyond Basics Jazz Guitar Rhythm Chops". It is a great vid for getting some very practical chords and rhythm patterns down.

After all his time at GIT, Don has a very natural teaching style, and presents very well.

I love too Don's teaching! His DVD's are really cool indeed. He has just released three books that look really good .(and they come with mp3's with around 8 hours audio lessons so it looks very attractive). Does anybody have them? Here's the link to his official site:

Thanks for that tip, nomelite. I was looking up the original Target Tones book and some jerk was trying to sell it for $100.00 on Amazon since the original is out of print.
