Help Modal pentatonics

I've been hearing this term thrown around lately. Can anyone explain to me what a modal pentatonic scale is and how they are formed? And, assuming by the name, is there one for each diatonic mode?

You might want to check out Ron Lemos very thorough book on the topic here:
Amazon.com: Jazz Guitar Soloing Concepts - A Pentatonic Modal Approach To Improvisation BK/CD (Book & CD) (9781423420132): Ronald Lemos: Books

A pentatonic is essentially any 5 note scale. A modal pentatonic is just that: a subset of a standard (7 note) modal scale containing only 5 mode-defining notes. They mostly leave out usual suspects like the 4th, 3rd or 5th, and concentrate on the mode-defining notes like the 6th and 9th in Dorian for example.
