Eye of the Hurricane

Hey everybody:

I've been learning some bebop heads lately to improve my reading and work on my vocabulary, and I was thinking of which heads to learn, and I thought of Eye of the Hurricane, which isn't really a bebop head, but by listening to it, I know it has lots of fun chromatic alterations and interesting chords (as all of Maiden Voyage does really). But looking at the chart is different from any regular bebop chart... I'm less intimidated by the metric modulation than I am by the more-than-an-octave leaps with the bass clef section. It seems like it was too "written for piano" for it to be handled well on guitar. I started learning parts, but when that octave part comes it doesn't even really sound good to me... Does anyone play this chart? If so... how????
