Sure, no problem.

If take a major scale: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8

you can play that in 3rds: 1 3 2 4 3 5 4 6 5 7 6 8 7 9 8

In an 7th chord the corresponding pattern would be:
1 5 3 7 5 8 7 12 (I hope you get my notation with 8=1 an octave up 12 = 3 octave up etc..)

Another pattern in major scales would be 3 notes:
1 2 3 2 3 4 3 4 5 4 5 6 5 6 7

In the arpeggio:
1 3 5 3 5 7 5 7 8 7 8 12

groups of 4 notes in major scale:
1 2 3 4 2 3 4 5 3 4 5 6

In the arpeggios (you get inversions of the arp):
1 3 5 7 3 5 7 8 5 7 8 12

Hope this helps, these are relatively common and simple patterns in the major scale that are easily moved to any other structure.
You could try 1 3 4 2 3 5 6 4 or 1 2 3 4 3 2 3 4 5 6 5 4 too....

Jens

Thanks, that's what I thought you meant but I wasn't sure so..

Ah by the way I just checked out your website. Some nice music there. Since I'm Danish I couldn't help but notice the"Tręben" (wooden leg in my language) project. Mixing nordic folk music with jazz. I was unaware that Stan Getz started such a trend (as I read on your website). And I grew up with a song like "Ebbe Skammelsen". Funny to hear it like that

Yeah I have to say that our version of "Ebbe S" fits the lyrics a bit better
I guess that it has become a sort of tradition in Scandinavia to mess with the old songs once in a while, this is just our take on that.

We are releasing another cd in a few weeks, but this time with our own compositions. I need to update my own website

Stan Getz had some stuff going on with Lars Gullin in the 50's (?) I don't know if they made any records but they did play concerts. Lars Gullins stuff is in any case worthwhile checking. So is the records from his son. Nice stuff.
