Default Take the A Train: Anatomy of a Tune

Hey Everyone,
Just wanted to pass along a new article I just posted on my site. This is the first in a new series of articles that I'll be running this year where I take a tune and analyze it, focusing on a specific ideas that we can use the improvise, play a chord melody or comp over that tune.

This article deals with Take the A Train and how to use the melody as the basis for improvisation.

Check it out, cheers!

Great idea Matt!! This is something it had always hoped to see on this forum, straight forward tune analysis. Looking forward to see where you go with this.

All the best.

Thanks, yeah I've been doing this stuff with my private students lately with different tunes so I thought it would be a great idea for a series of articles. Next up will be a chord melody study of All the Things You are.
