try connecting chord tones with chromatic ideas... one easy example would be if you find 2 chord tones (or upper extensions) that fall a minor third apart, play all chromatic notes in between, resulting in a 4-note chromatic idea.

you can go between the 7 and 5 of a minor or dominant chord

between the 3rd and 5th of a major chord

between the 7th and 9th of a major chord

between the 9 and 11 of a minor chord

from the 7th to the flat 9 of a dominant chord

experiment and use your ears to decide how to use this idea. you can go up, down, mix 'em up, etc.... all sorts of things you can come up with just by implementing this idea.

Hi Mattia, the Joe Elliot book,An Introduction To Jazz Soloing,is a great book for learning to play lines that imply the harmony,it has been talked about alot on here lately.Even if you dont use his fingerings, you can still apply his concepts of chord tones embelished with chromatic notes.
