That's funny, just last night I was writing in another forum (trying to help someone figure something out) and mentioned that it was often necessary to "magnify" the beat pace by putting in more beats to slow it down... like converting 1 2 3 4 into 1-an 2-an 3-an 4-an or even 1-e-an-da 2-e-an-da...

Then encouraged him that in time, the span of his "grasp" would increase, being able to catch more and bigger chunks of music, first at normal "resolution", ultimately figuring out ways to see and hear even larger sections of the progression as conceptually graspable units...
