 Recommendation: Free Online Series "50 Jazz Blues Licks" Hi everybody. Over at truefire.com they have a very neat series of blog posts running at the moment, "50 Jazz Blues Licks". 50 Jazz Blues Licks | TrueFire Every Lick comes with a little written introduction to the player or the record it is taken from and then they have a little youtube video where the author of the blog, David Hamburger, plays and explains the lick. There is really cool stuff in those licks, so itīs absolutely worth checking out... My favourite licks so far are #12 (Jack McDuff) and #14 (Howard Ousley). What do you think? | This is really cool. I'm going to look at this again when I have a bit more time, but it's really interesting that it's all over a 12-bar form because everyone has to deal with 12-bars and it's hard to keep them interesting sometimes, so it's good to see how these guys handle it. Thanks for the link! |
