Default amps

Good amp... traditional jazz sound... i.e. really nice clean sound... no bells or whistles required. Big time on a budget. Any suggestions? I'm a little sketchy on buying used stuff... I know that narrows my options a lot, but anyway... Any help is more than welcome.

I've read on this board a lot of folks think highly of these especially if you're on a budget...

Very cool. I was sort of hoping I'd hear that one. I've got a friend who plays through one and always sounds good. Guess I'll look in to that.

I have the cube20, which is great. I guess the models of the JC clean channel are the same, but the 60 has a bigger speaker and more volume. The cube30 would also be an option.

How's that one for volume?

Well I just play at home, which it is fine for. Dunno about playing with a drummer. There's also the cube80! I think you'd have to go used for the cube60 as it's not made anymore. There might be some unsold ones kicking around but no idea where.

I've never played one, but the Fender SuperchampXD gets a lot of hype about it's clean channel. Pricewise that would be between a cube30 and a cube80, and it's a 15w tube amp. The dirty channel has some amps models and effects of questionable quality, but I doubt that'll bother you too much. The clean channel isn't a model, as I understand it, it's all tube.
