Guitar Adding a tone control... guitar repairman in South East London?

Hi, I'm very probably buying a Peerless New York later this week, I've heard nothing but good things about them, although I've read that they're a bit on the bright side...

Adding a tone control sounds like a good idea - at least to give you more options on the sound - and I was wondering if it's also worth adding a switch to split the humbucker just to give more options on the sound?

Any ideas, thoughts would be welcome....

..... and anyone recommend a guitar repairman in/near SE London???

Cheers, Chris

PS.... While I'm about it - anyone recommend a good jazz guitar teacher in/near SE London?.... I've just started playing again after a ten year gap, and I need to get some help!

Default tone

Hello Chris,
IMO you can do it by your self. Buy a rolling pot (500 kOhm) and tiny condensator and glue it under pickguard, so that a little pit is outside pickgard where you can roll it. Tone you need not so often and it is almost invisible there. If you put volume and tonepot on the pickgard, one is going to be on your way when you are playning stummingchords. And you can take your changes away so that all is original if you don´t like it. If you need a swich, try to fasten it also so that you need not to drill pickgard. How to put cables is easy, just look SD-pages. You can glue also cables on the backside your picgard with aluminiumtape. Something like this:

Cheers

Many thanks for that juuso1, but the thought of me with a soldering iron and a brand new guitar.... !!!!

Despite being a recording engineer for twenty years, I've never understood electronics and always left it to the experts....

The rolling tone control looks neat though.... I'll give it some consideration!

Any more ideas....?
