Gear Anyone recommend a decent looper

Hi, I have recently discovered that I can back myself via my "phrase Loop" on my Boss GT10. This discovery has really given me freedom as I am a lonely old soul stuck about 200 Meters from the middle of nowhere, with no one to jam with (Jazz at least ). Anyhow I can now do some performance shows for my fellow ex-pats and its proving to be real fun. The downside is that the loop phraser on the GT10 only gives me around 40 seconds to lay down a backing (On the fly). So my question???

Can anyone recommend a looper that will give me a few minutes of recording time, that is easy to use?

(Push pedal - Record loop - Push pedal again - loop plays)

I don't need any percussion or anything else, just a basic facility for laying an on the fly "live" rhythm track down so I can play over!

Funny thing is that I despise backing tracks (Its a Liverpool thing.. Duo's with backing tracks stealing work from "Live" Bands)

But using a looper to me at least is not cheating cause its still me

Regards

Eddie

Perfect! I wouldnt have found this unit in a million years! There are so many! But the spec on this one looks ideal for what I want!

Thanks Flat

Hi Flat

This review from Sam Ash is worrying, it says that when you start playing over the loop the overall sound distorts? Any truth to this?

You can overload the input if the gain control is set too high, but otherwise I've had no problems with the JamMan. Highly recommended.

I haven't noticed that problem either, Eddie. Not saying the reviewer's wrong, but I just haven't noticed that particular problem.

Now if only the JamMan would take my input and make it sound like Wes or Joe Pass on the come back, I'd be all set. ;-)

It works great for me as well. I use it on a daily basis when I practice. It is fun.
You can connect an other pedal to move up and down in the samples so you can have intro and ending. You might find that feature useful on stage.

I can recommend the Digitech JamMan - just make sure that you do not record over the tracks on positions 1 to 10 unless you never want to use the supplied material. The JamMan is capable of many great applications, from practice to performance. It is definitely worth getting the footswitch and using it to move loop positions. I too use the JamMan every day. Back up to your hard drive on your computer and you never need lose a loop again! Good luck with your search.
