All this Sadowsky talk has me very intrigued. I was very tempted on a used semi hollow that J Hale recently had for sale... now a gorgeous JH... ahhhh....

I have played a couple, one extensively. Since they are based on Jim's old DA Jazzline, which was based on a 175, that is what I tend to compare them to. First, the construction and finish work is 2nd to none. They are a bit thinner than the 175, and playability is as good as it gets.

Due to his construction process, they are much louder unplugged and have a way better acoustic tone than the 175. However, they were both brighter to my ears than my 175, and for that reason among others, I have kept the 175, and just admired the various JHs I have run across. Wonderful instrument, built by one of the best around.

This one looks great. Hopefully someone will get a good deal, and give it a good home.

Here's a nice one at Archtop.com, too... looks to be from the Terada shop...

2003 Sadowsky Jim Hall Prototype, Solid Spruce Top

And here's a D'aquisto "Hall" that was definitely made at Terada...
