| | My new Heritage H535 Hi folks. I've been a member of this forum for a couple of years but haven't posted in quite awhile. I just bought a Heritage H-535 last week. It's sort of early for me to post final impressions of my new axe, but I am very interested in hearing from any other members who have this instrument.
I'm especially curious about what other musicians believe to be its strengths and weaknesses.
At this point in my life, I'm a couch musician. My musical preferences run to old time blues, ragtime, and jug band, a little western swing, as well as jazz standards.
I've been playing for more than 40 years, most of which have been with a flat top steel string. I am very curious to hear the thoughts and impressions of any of you folks who own or have played this axe. |

| | No experience but would sure like to see some photos. I have an H-575 and a Golden Eagle, both very fine instruments. There are three (I think) lengthy posts on these guitars with lots of photos if you'd care to look. Do a search for threads originated by my user name - the Heritage topics should be obvious.
Congratulations on the new guitar. If your recent experience has been limited to flat tops it's easy to understand that you'd not want to jump into an immediate review of such a different instrument |

| | Of all the 335 type guitars, I really like it a bunch. No doubt you know the back story of Heritage. Quality company, old school values, good product. US made. |

| | I am very familiar with the history of Heritage. The store where I bought it is a small local shop near my home. The first time I ever visited it was so I could play one of the Heritage guitars. I had heard about them and was anxious to see what the fuss was about.
That was awhile back, and the shop's owner has since become a friend who offered me a terrific deal on an instrument. That's the axe I bought, an H535 OSB.
I already did own a couple of lesser electrics; an Oscar Schmidt OE30 a Chinese 335 copy with a bolt on neck,; and a sort of ES175 copy, a Washburn HB-15C.
The reason I'm hesitant to offer an evaluation is simply that I have owned the guitar all of 5 days. I will say that it is beautifully made. easily on par with my Martin steel string. The frets and fretboard are silky smooth and the neck, though thinner than I normally like, plays like butter.
If anyone is interested, I'll post photos in a couple days. |

| | Here are a few shots.
I find that the nitro finish on this guitar does not photograph as impressively at the high gloss on my less expensive instruments.
All the shots were natural sunlight, odd reflections and all. An umbrella or softbox would have yielded better images but I was too lazy to set one up. |

I like the odd reflections, especially on the pickups. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
