Gear Delay Pedals

hey everyone. I am looking to get a delay pedal and was wondering if you guys could help me out.
I am between
-Line 6 DL4 (new)
-Diamond Memory Lane 1 (used in very good condition)
-Empress Superdelay

If any of you guys own or have any experience with the above, could you please leave a brief review with pros and cons? Thanks a lot!

The Empress is phenomenal, but has a pretty signicant learning curve (at least for me). I kept going back to it, but couldn't justify the money for a great tool I would use only about 10% of. The looper is very cool. The Diamond looks great, and I've heard great things about it, but never tried it. I ended up with a Carbon Copy which is a great pedal and just picked up a Maxon AD-999.

The question I had for me, was what I wanted the delay to do for me. If you are looking for lots of features and versatility, the Empress is pretty spectacular.

Last weekend I saw Randy Johnston playing with Lou Donaldson. Incredible tone, I thought its was (just) the Fender Twin. Close inspection revealed a BabyBoomer stompbox. I'm pretty sure that is was a delay. He had it 'on' the whole concert, adjusted a knob once, thats all. Being a complete no-no on stompboxes I wonder what does it do?
