Default Metronome/ Drum machine

Does anyone know of a good metronome or drum machine that can play swing rhythms? I'd like to be able to practice playing jazz to a semi-decent sounding electronic drum track. I'm willing to pay up to around $150.

Thanks in advance

Default drum machine

Sounds like a perfect use for BIAB and the price is about right!

BIAB is great, but I'm looking for something that doesn't require a computer.

You might want to consider a small hardware sampler. Then you can avoid a lot of unnecessary drum loops that you won't use.Just sample anything that you want to groove with.

Learn to use a regular metronome for only beats 2 and 4. Can't beat the price. This guy shows you how.

I already do use a metronome on beats 2 and 4 - but I'm looking for something more fun and realistic to practice to. My metronome right now is really quiet so I figured I needed a new one, and why not buy a drum machine or sampler instead. I'll check out the other things you guys suggested though, thanks!

Yes Bounce Metronome Pro can play swing rhythms, on your PC Laptop, notebook or netbook.

It's conducting visuals help you to keep in time with the rhythm, especially useful for swing. As reviewed in Sound On Sound Magazine January 2010.

These videos will give some idea of what it's like, though the streaming videos may not keep time as crisply as the program does:

Here it is with continually changing tempo

And another way of showing the swing rhythms inside ovals - there are many other options such as conducting patterns and bounce back and forth.

The visuals also help you to keep in time when you play loudly and can't hear the metronome sound easily.

To find out more about it:

It's only $26.99 at present, so well within your budget.

Any suggestions very welcome, many features are suggested by users and I update it frequently.

Thanks,

Do you have a smart phone? If so i bet you can find a metronome for $10 or less. I use the outstanding "Guitar Tool Kit" for the iPhone which has chord charts and a tuner too, but it doesnt have a swing setting. But! I just searched and this metronome seems to have all sorts of settings and is only $10 (if you have an iPhone).

You could get a used Dr. Rhythm for that or less. Here's one new.
