Thanks. I'd just like to know.
I played one years ago and really was a neat guitar. As I recall the tone was VERY clean and smooooooth.

Elderly's in Lansing has one in stock of the same vintage that I played: FENDERŪ MUSTANGŪ (1978) - Elderly Instruments

I think it went for a couple hundred bucks in the late 70's. Listed for $1385 now.

Whoops! I just realized HighSpeedSpoon was talking about the amps. Sorry. (Still like the guitar, though.)

I do have Mustang iv. Very big, very loud. For jazz one of the smaller ones would definitely be enough. I play rock with it. Love the versatility as we play covers and i need many different sounds quickly. In my opinion it is the by far best sounding modelling amp that i have heard and the built in effects are at lest good. I guess with a little tweaking the twin or Princeton emulations would produce nice jazz tones too. But i haven't tried that. They are not all that sturdy but if you don't play soccer with them they are ok. Many people seem to stay away from these amps due to presumed fizz problems. Mine is absolutely quiet. I would say that they are a fantastic bang for the buck.

Thanks Frank. I don't want to hijack this thread, so I am posting about the fizz here. But I would still be curious if "Fizz" is the reason no one here has mentioned the Mustang III, or if there are other reasons no one here keeps a M III in the stable.
