Hi Scotty!
Glad to have some glasgowian blood on the forum, it's the best of places for jazz guitar, no doubt. Regarding the pickups, there was some 'jazz' pickups I had in mind, good price from thomann. Just can't remember the brand, but was told those were good. I had plans on buying at least one, but since I got my les paul I have no need to change, I got the jazz sound I want with the standard set. The only thing I might do is to get a compressor pedal, to get a more even level, not that it's that uneven, but it's a little too much attack when I pick. But that might destroy the sound, because that sound I have now is perfect. I should perhaps try another pick, now I've got a very thick, rigid, one, which probably gives more attack than a somewhat thinner type. I have a standard gibson pick, the about 1,5 mm thick round edges, rather hard, type. Might try that tomorrow. Excuse me for going on about this, uninteresting probably... But as I said, they have a jazz pup at Thomann Cyberstore which is supposed to be good, and not too hefty pricewise. There is some attilla zoller humbucker too that is supposed to be fine. But I stick to the originals on this one, they give what I was looking for all the time.
Peace
Skei (the satisfied at last one)

Great, Scotty!
That's fine, finding the right pickup, I myself, as I said before, am quite happy with the pups on the les paul, but yesterday I found a new pick, a 'Jazz' by Pickboy. Black, 1.5 mm thick, and so great to use. It's the best pick I ever tried. The perfect balance between hardness and smooth softness. I swear I became a better player as soon as I saw the name 'jazz' in gold on it. Ahummm.
Sad to hear about your accident, glad you're still among us!
Had a near fatal one myself some twenty odd years ago. Eye opener. Makes one appreciate the simple things in life, like getting out of bed every morning, listening to the wind, enjoying the sound of rain on tarmac. Yeah, you know, you've been there. Just had a cup of coffee, will now do some practicing.
Have a good day, enjoy the new seths.
Peace
Skei (the just had a swine flu shot one)
