| | Just when picking were slim, someone from Warren, WI, posts THREE Polytones! This is an older MB IV, 12" and 80W with a red knob and reverb. Overpriced at $485. I think the seller saw recent prices for the 15" MB IV. POLYTONE MINI BRUTE IV - eBay (item 280460582445 end time Feb-10-10 14:04:43 PST)
EDIT: opening price lowered to $250. But the description mentions "crackling when you play". I don't like the sound of that.
EDIT: bidding closed with no bids.

| | Polytone #3 is an S15 (Studio 15") Bass guitar amp: 15" and 180W. And it's the most reasonably priced -- $250. http://cgi.ebay.com/POLYTONE-MINI-S1...item414cc0aaa6
EDIT: Sold! The winning bid was $250 on the nose.

| | I found a 1999 Mini Brute III in a local Craiglist (Allentown, PA) last year for $175.00. I couldn't get there fast enough. It was pristine. Tested it ... it was fine ... no haggle, just gave asking price in cash without a peep from me.
I find Craigslist to be usualy cheaper than Ebay. You get a more honest price and there is no auction frenzy too.

I notice that currently Polytone has a MB II (12"), IV (15") and V (15" + horn) but no III. RETAIL PRICE LIST |

| | A "like new" Mega Brute: 8" speaker and 140W. $499. If you find the 12" MB too bassy, this would be interesting. USA POLYTONE Poly Tone MEGA BRUTE COMBO JAZZ AMP! MINT! - eBay (item 150412234151 end time Feb-10-10 10:15:55 PST)
EDIT: heh, bidding ended without a bid. I think sellers were getting a little too excited, with the upward blip in prices, and were opening their bidding too high. I predict this will be offered again, soon, with a lower opening bid.
EDIT: I am half right. It's back, but the seller is still going for $499. http://cgi.ebay.com/USA-POLYTONE-Pol...item230554bd42
EDIT: Sold! $685, 8 bids! Wow! I guess I can't anticipate worth a damn.

| | The amps from reply #63 is back, $250 as before. A older 80W 12" MB IV with red knob and reverb, and "crackling sound" POLYTONE MINI BRUTE IV - eBay (item 280463830724 end time Feb-17-10 15:14:20 PST)
EDIT: bidding ends with no bids. Hard to sell something with an obvious issue!

| | BDLH, I just looked up Kelowna on a map. You're a long way from me!
...but I've been to Trail, which I'll bet is a lot closer than you've ever been to here.

| | Trail -- Teck Cominco? It's not the first place I would visit in Canada. It used to be one of the most polluted. |

Well, I'm glad you enjoyed you visit in any case! |
