So I went ahead and traded my red es339 for this '88 blonde es175. I have actually had it for a little while now and done some work to it. New 57 classic neck pickup and new medium jumbo frets. I also had the volume pot switched out to a Gibson vos 500k audio taper. Nice pots!
With those changes the guitar went from good to great!
    Here's the guitar in action:

You're tearing it up. It looks like an L-4CESN Mahogany to me. It has the L-5CES/L-4CES T-shaped Art Deco tailpiece?

    Great playing!

Incredible playing. And you make it look easy. Very nice.
The guitar sounds terrific. Nothing like a 175!

    That Guitar IS in action!

That is some sweet playing, Baby Guitar sounds all growed-up.

An added bonus to performing with a REALLY FINE guitar is it will make
you think twice before you "El Kabong" any of the folks strolling past you while you are playing
    such incredible music.

    Thanks everyone!
Next for the 175 is to try some different strings. I might put some rounds on her.

    Hi, Asle,

Always dig your playing! just saw a new clip you did with a Jimmy Bryant tune... did you get rid of your '88 175? I wonder about those mahogany back 175s and liked how yours sounded, but the Bryant clip looks like either a 60's 175 or a VOS re-issue - the tailpiece is from that era and the sides are blonde.

I need to buy your album, meant to do that some time ago. Think I will do that right now!

Sweet, that sounds awesome! Great playing. Blonde, not super flamey 175s are my favorite 175s. I just think that look is so classic and classy and it matches the sound which is also classic and classy. Congrats, it’s hard to beat a good 175!
