Guitar Godin LG

Has anyone played/owned a Godin LG sp90 guitar ? There is one in my local shoppe at a very good price and I was wondering if it would be a better buy than the Ibanez af75 that is on order for me [delivery sept].

Imo, Godin guitars are a step above the Artcore line. However, the LG P90 is a solidbody guitar, whereas the Af75 is a hollowbody, so kinda apples and oranges. Now if you were talking about the Godin Montreal or Multiac, then I would say more comparable.

I would take Godin any day over Ibanez. Canadian made vs Chinese made. I walked into a guitar store in Phoenix a few years ago, and they had a spruce topped Multiac that I almost walked out with, and I wasn't really in the market at the time. Wonderful instrument for around $1k.

I love my Summit CT and my Fifth Avenue, but neither of them are like an Artcore. I can certainly highly recommend the Summit as an excellent dual humbucker soldbody.

The Godin [£329] in question is only £30 more than the Ibanez.

I have a Godin LG SP90 and i wasnt really looking for a guitar. I pick it up and really like the way it played, and went down the next week and bought it. The manager at the Guitar Center gave me a deal on it, it was new but wasnt even on inventory anymore so i got it for $425.00. I did not care for the Seymour Duncan P90s so i purchase a set of Gibson P90s out of an old Goldtop Les Paul from ebay for $100.00 bucks and I really love it. I play it more then my ES335 Gibson and my 175 Gibson are my Tele. Its has become my favorite all around guitar from Blues to Jazz Southern Rock I use it mostly with a JC 120 and a Fender Twin
