BTW, love your 339 demo! Still trying to get my hands on one, but I can never work up the nerve to get rid of my LP.
I got a a 339--gotta say Jack's demo and "semi hollow" page also piqued my interest , and the fact that it was, ahem 1-2k cheaper than the 335s. Actually I had a Heritage Prospect STD before, sold it, and regretted doing so, and the 339 is similar to the Prospect. It's the only semi I own.

I put a CC by Jason Lollar in the neck--and it's great as a dedicated jazz box!!! The CC really makes all the strings clear and chime very sweetly.

Now that sounds like a killer setup!

The 'perfect' jazz box is the one that feels and sounds the best to you.

L5 with floating pickup. Play it unplugged in your living room, turn on the amp for a coffeehouse gig, and stuff it full of socks for a festival gig. Plus it looks great!

My three electric guitars. (The other two alr nylon string classical) Each has a unique character and function. The Martin with solid spruce top, solid maple back and rims and undersaddle piezo pickup is the best sounding acoustic electric guitar I had ever owned.

What would make the Taylor T5 the perfect jazz guitar?

That was the question. Does new amp/guitar tech trump the need for traditional jazz box?

you answered the question with a question. The T5 fails on all accounts IMO. Mediocre electric sounds, bad acoustic sounds. Nothing close to archtop sounds. Doesn't mean Kurt Rosenwinkel couldn't make it sound amazing though.

The guitar is not intending to be a jazz guitar, it is an acoustic/electric guitar that produces both acoustic and electric sounds, and imo not very good ones.

Thank you. My switch from nylon string cutaways to steel string weighs on me literally as well as figuratively. Semi-hollow Ibanez Artcore A73, Gibson Les Paul Studio, are a fit; tube amps really make a huge difference. I study this discussion page carefully.

Quite happy to "jazz"; subjective remarks re instrument also welcome. The intellectual and physical perceptions are riffs are appreciated but never definitive. So, re Ibanez Artcore AS73?

Really nice piece, very sweet tone and fantastic playing - congratulations!
Is there a lead sheet or tabs available for that piece?

Great tone and expressive playing.
I probably enjoy listening to Grant more than any other jazz guitarist!
