| | My New Eastman T165MX (I like...I like...I like...I like...I like) This little sweetheart made it into my home a few days ago. Haven't had much time to set it up or play but it sure is a beauty. (Did I say that I like it?)

| | Hello all... interestingly enough, this is my first post here. I was searching on info about the T165MX, and stumbled upon this thread. So, I joined, so I could check it out - thinking I might ask your impressions of the guitar, once you've had time to play it, etc. When I joined, the thumbnails popped in so I could see your new guitar, and now I am confused. All the T165MX guitars I have seen are single cutaways. In fact, the Soundpure link you provided shows the guitar as a single. Your thumbnails look like a T185?? So, did I miss something? Anyway, if you bought a T165MX, what do you think of it? Playability good? No fret buzz or intonation issues? I hope its a great guitar for you! |

Other 165s were on long back order and what I actually found was a beautiful solid stained t186mx. So this is the link to what I actually own: Eastman T186MX 110915904 Red Semi-Hollow Guitar | Soundpure.com.
If you are still interested I would be happy to tell you what I know about it. |

| | Thanks for the clarification. At least I'm not going crazy. That's a beautiful guitar you got there! I am also looking at the 185 and 186, as I am used to Gibsons, and feel these might be a nice alternative. So, yes... please let us know your impressions! I was initially reluctant to consider a Chinese guitar, but these are apparently very nice quality (and I know they sound good!). My concerns remain ... Long term durability (I've seen a few that are 4 or 5 yrs old that have the gold plating on the bridge and high E side exposed edges of the bridge pickup wearing off), and playability (perfect intonation and no fret buzz). That said, I am pretty sure I'll have one as soon as I can find the "one for me." your finish looks wonderful! Just what I'd pick as well. Good luck!!! Post when you can. |

| | I ordered the T184mx as a 7 string, no fretmarkers. I played the 186 and loved it but rathered the smaller body. It should arrive in the next couple of months.
