Default eastman guitars

HI Everyone: i just looked at the eastman guitars and am interested in two models. the new ar371-ce is a lot like the gibson es175 . my concert is the laminated front side back and top, and inline bracing. are these things acceptable in a very good guitar??? also for a little more money they offer an eastman 503-ce. looks like a gibson L5. beautiful and has a spruce one piece top ,excellent design. what i am wondering is which is the smarter buy for a jazz player. the difference in money is not a problem. i just want the best i can get for the money. seems a good alternative for a low priced good muscical instrument. any info or opinion is really appreciated.

A real ES-175 is a laminate, and braced similarly, I believe.

Laminate guitars are more resistant to feedback. They don't sound as good unplugged as a trade-off. So it all depends on your needs--are you going to be plugging in and using the instrument as an electric guitar, or are you looking for an acoustic jazz guitar that can be plugged in if need be.
