Default High powered amp and matching speaker

I know this may be a strange question for this forum but I know there are some rock guys here. I am finding my 40Watt Tube Blackstar HT40 is not cutting it from a volume perspective. By the end of the night I'm pushing both channel full bore and it is barley cutting it. What is sad this is only for stage volume, I'm running an emulated line to the front-house. I have a few choices and want some opinions. First of all I am going to bring a speaker stand and try to get the amp pointed towards my ears. It is a combo 1X12. Next option is to bring a second 1X12, I really do not want to bring another cabinet as I'm limited on transport space. I'm not sure how much louder it would be with another speak. Lastly I'm looking at 100watt tube amp but still want a single 12 inch cab and I am having trouble finding a single cab that can handle that wattage. Again I do not want to bring more equipment.

I am open to any suggestions.

Rick

A transparent clean boost could be an option I think as long as the input of the amp can take it without distorting

have you checked your tubes recently-?
volume does get lower if they are older and have been run hard

i am very fond of two amps that i own, both 1x12

a throbbing 100w marshal 6101-with electro voice speaker -takes pedals like no other- heavy-like a twin
these are prone to heat issues and need computer fans to stay cool-best thing is ton convert to head and cab-

and a marshall jcm 800-50w and still very very loud -celestion g 12 65
oddly, clean channel is also great, and with a bit of eq and delay or verb-nicely voiced for jazz

also i have a 2x12 fender hot rod deville-which is very very loud when freshly tubed-a pretty affordable amp-not light nor as small

my experience is that an amp stand is always a good idea. or use a chair. or the house 4x12.or anything that will get the speaker pointing towards you instead of at the crowd.

start there. at the very least you'll be able to clearly hear what's coming out of your amp and determine if any other steps need to be taken.

Absolutely agree about trying an amp stand first. Getting the amp off the floor can really help a lot!

It might also be worth checking the tubes cause 50 watts should get pretty loud if its cranked.
