| | strings Has anyone had any experience with Dogal flat wounds? They came very highly recommended today from someone whose opinion I hold in the highest regard. the company is out of Venice, Italy. Very big in cello and other acoustic strings. Their web site didn't have too much info on their flat wounds. I think they are calling it the Evolution. Not even any good info on their site for where I can buy the to try them out. Thanks,

| | I have never heard of them. But if you have to order them from Italy, bear in mind that mail order from/to Italy doesn't always work smoothly. It may have something to do with their postal system (some internet vendors won't ship to Italy for that reason). In addition - as far as I can figure from my own few experiences - internet trading is not something everyone in Italy is comfortable with, even if they try to sell on line. One time, the item (a watch strap) arrived, but not the ordered size and only after a very long delay. I gave up having it corrected or getting a refund and gave the strap to a friend. Another time, the vendor couldn't provide a way to pay (he couldn't give a correct Swift code for his bank, obviously didn't know what it was), so I had to give it up. |

| | I became interested after reading your post and checked around the internet, I could find roundwound electric guitar strings from them in small gauges and classical strings, but that's it. I'll check at some of the music shops here in NYC.

| | Let us know if you receive the strings in case you decide to order from this shop or another.
The strings are a sort of hybrid gauge: 12-46.
And if you need help with the language, let me know. |
