| | Suggestion for a good Reverb Hello,
I'm not satisfied with the reverb of my Henriksen 112,
so I thought I'd get an external pedal or something else.
I once tried a Lexicon LXp1 with a polytone and was very well impressed. The Lxp1 is not in production any longer and can be found used for about 150-200 euros.
Do you have experience with this effect, or, could you please suggest another good reverb.
thanks |

| | The reverb on the Henriksen sucks - that amp just ASKS a reverb pedal, it really takes them well.
What kind of reverb do you like? For more deep / lush reverbs à la Rosenwinkel I like both Hardwire RV-7 on Hall mode (Lexicon chip) and TC Hall of Fame on Church mode. A friend of mine used his Lexicon rack for years and he said the TC was the first pedal ge tried that allowed him to leave the Lexicon at home. RV-7 uses the Lexicon chip and should sound close too. I have both and love both.
For spring reverb emulation the Neunaber WET is supposed to be the best (Hermides uses his chip I think). The Holy Grail was for years the standart, I don't think you will be disappointed with one too.
You can find used Lexicons all the time but they are heavy and suck some tone (but they do sound great) - with the TC you will get a very small true bypass box. |

| | Thanks for your suggestions and comments.
Now I'm starting to get more information from the web on the products you proposed.
I got some interest for the TC Hall of Fame. I also noticed however that TC Electronics has another product, the Nova Reverb.
Jorgemg1984, do you have info on this one? |

| | Never used one - when TC released it I think it was great but I suppose the HOF has better reverbs these days. Some people complain about A / D / A conversion on Nova pedals but I had a delay one and liked it. The NR is much bigger and expensive than the HOF and I don't imagine it sounding better but who knows... In that price range I would get a Nova System - a little more expensive than the Nova Reverb but offers a lot more.
I know both a modern player here and KR traded the Nova Reverb for the RV-7 when the RV-7 came out so...
Any chance you try them yourself? |

| | The Neunaber WET sounds absolutely beautiful but it has a power socket issue, at least mine has. The socket is slightly too wide so the plug is a little loose, resulting in bad hiss if I move the power cable. Maybe Brian has solved this problem but I'd ask about that before buying one. Soundwise, I don't think you can get a better one. |

| | If you can find a used one, the Fuchs Verbrator or Good Verbrations is great. I too use it with a Henriksen that I was thinking of selling and it has totally transformed the sound to the point where I might keep it. Very warm and smooth.. |

| | If you can afford it, go for a Strymon Bluesky. Look for a used one. Second choice would be the TC Electronic Hall of Fame. |

Now you have to give it a try before puchase.

| | EH Holy Grail - Great sounding Spring reverb emulation in my book and a very nice sounding Hall reverb.
EH Cathedral - Outstanding reverbs with more parameter control. Also allows storage of presets.
Eventide Space Reverb - Excellent reverb, really deep programming capabilty. Allows storing 100 reverb sounds. Really deep.
TC Electronic Hall of Fame - Excellent reverb with enough knobs to tailor reverb to exactly suit your taste without being overly complicated to pragram. Nice
TC Electronic Nova Reverb pedal - also excellent reverbs and allows you to store a preset sound. (I love the ability to store preset sounds).
Those are the reverbs on the top of my list right now.

| | Lee Jackson Mr. Springgy!! Mr Springgy Reverb Pedal by Lee Jackson Metaltronix I don't know from wet, dry, spring, unsprung, etc. But it sounds wonderful to me. A little goes a long way. I like my archtops fully intact (non-cutaway, but I like to think of them as "intact" rather than non-cut) and unamp'ed, but have started to give myself over to the pick-up/amp world.
And, I'll take the opportunity to add, I received absolutely outstanding customer service from Lee Jackson. I bought one - and immediately - barely had it out of the box - completely fried it by using the wrong power adapter (was I supposed to use AC, but used DC? Or was it the other way around?).
I called Mr. Springgy and explained my tale of woe. Told them exactly what I did, pleaded nolo contendere, and asked how best to proceed. They asked me to send it back, and, upon their receipt, immediately sent me a brand-spanking new one, for the cost of postage. Very impressive. Great experience. I ordered it from Pedal Geek.com, which was very good about putting in a helpful word for me.
I have no affiliation with either Lee Jackson or Pedal Geek, much, no doubt, to their great relief.

| | Thanks a lot for all the great suggestions and comments.
At some point I'll buy one of those reverbs you proposed.
However I have now tried the following experiment.
The Henriksen has a line out.
I take the signal from there and plug it into the Fender Deluxe Reverb.
I get a nice combination mixing the two amps.
I hope that does not harm the Deluxe Reverb......
What do you think... |

| | Some guys here know much more about things but I don't think it's a very good idea although I guess it depends on how the line out is made... In theory the line out should send a signal that is meant to go straight to a PA and should be too strong to use in an amp's guitar input.
I think an A / B / Y box is your solution for a stereo setup - ideally with a ground / lift.
And please buy the reverb pedal when you can - it's the best investment you can make on that amp! (well an EV speaker is also great but it's too expensive) |

| | The idea of connecting the Henriksen to the Deluxe Reverb via the lineout came from Pete Henriksen himself.
Well, I asked him if you would get louder volume by using a cabinet extension or using a pair of Henriksen amps.
He replied saying that
1) More volume by using two Henriksen amps
2) It is possible to split the signal in two and sending them to the amps separately, but it is also possible the other possiblity of taking the signal directly from the line out and feeding the other amp.
Of course he was referring to two Henriksen JazzAmps
I extended the idea to Henriksen and Deluxe Reverb.
Actually I tried some time ago with a JamMan Stereo.
It has two outputs and I sent the signal separately to the Henriksen and the Deluxe Reverb. I got also more noise/buzzing, as far as I remember....
Maybe that's the ground / lift problem you mentioned. |

| | Again I am not that expert on the subject, if Peter said it was OK than he is right not me I have read people in the past saying it was not a good idea, maybe someone who really understands these things comes here and helps you... If it's working it's already good I guess but would be wise to avoid long term damage on the Deluxe. |

as far as the AC socket...yours may be a quirk, as both i've had/have were totally cool....powered off my PP2+ it's solid and quiet. brian's great about communication....it'd be worth contacting him.
i'd also say YAY to the dr scientist RRR, pretty stunning and versatile (w/ a great rotary sound), BUT it's REALLY particular regarding power consumption. running off a standard out from a PP2+ it tended to be a it noisy.
