Review Metronome & Amp through Headphones?

Howdy all, I live in a thin walled residence where anyone can hear a fart from across the house! I'm trying to figure out a way to get my metronome and amp to run through my headphones. Perhaps there's a splitter type of jack that's available on the market? I have a Boss db-30 metronome with a headphone line out. I practice on a small solid state amp that has a 1/4 inch head phone jack. Maybe there's a way to do this with the Boss Rc-2 Loop pedal? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for looking, Cordially, Mike.

Hi Mike.

I had to struggle with the exact same problem for years. In the meanwhile I moved and I can practice without headphones - what a blessing.

Any small mixer will do, for example:

Behringer XENYX 502

Just hook the headphone outputs of the amp and the metronome to the mixer and put your headphone in the mixer. Sorry for my bad english, I hope you get what I am saying here

Cheers,
H.

Oh excellent! Thank you, I'll continue to ask for suggestions before I go with this. Your English is fantastic, Mike. PS. Do you need 1/4inch adapters for the auxiliary cords?

I live in an apartment as well. I've found that plugging into my computer and playing through a program like Garageband, Amplitube, or Amp Farm, and then into headphones, does a much better job than most practice amps. Especially since I can record myself on Garageband.

Here's the metronome I use: FREE METRONOME SOFTWARE - Best Metronome .com

Hmmm... are you sure about that ? I think it's for switching between two signals. NOT for mixing the signals..

Thank you Aniss, you are correct... I deleted my post and will try to remember not to post when I'm asleep.

BOSS DB-90 "Dr. Beat":

I got this thing at Christmas and haven't fully explored its possibilities, but I know it does quite a lot of stuff. MIDI in, monitor your guitar (and the sound is great - a big loud fat jazz tone w/my Artcore!), and built-in *Rhythm Coach* - fine-tunes your timing? (Haven't gone here yet.) Tons of drum beats, has human voice counts, count-ins, on-off w/footswitch... jeez, it does a lot.

DO buy the BOSS adapter ($20). I went through the 9v battery in less than three hours. Prices vary wildly - I could have saved $100 just by checking eBay. I dig this thing - use it every single day.
