Default Comfy Necks

Part of the reason I use a Tele is because I like the necks on Fenders. They're nice and thin, and I don't feel like I have to apply much if any effort into fretting them. Now, I started on bass and still play regularly, so I'm used to having to apply some effort, but I still feel like necks on Gibson style guitars are way too thick. I've got a buddy with a Les Paul that I can't stand playing on because the neck is so chunky. Makes for great sustain, but it hurts my hand. And I feel like most Gibson or Gibson-style semi-hollows and hollow bodies have similarly large necks.

Can anybody point me to a bigger guitar with a thinner neck? Or do I just have to suck it up and either work with what I got or get used to thick necks?

I feel exactly the same way about Gibson necks, but Guild necks fit me perfectly. I have a late 90s X150 archtop (great US-made guitars still underpriced) and a mid 60s Starfire II they'll have to pry from my cold dead fingers. Both are 1 11/16ths" nut width but with a shallow "C" neck. Guild doesn't make electrics anymore but if you find a nice used one give it a try.

The X150s can still be found for 11-$1300. I swapped out the pickup for a Pete Biltoft blade but the standard pups are fine.
