Help Hofner New President Amp Help

I am in the market to buy a new amp for my Hofner New President Jazz box. It has a floating pickup so preferably I would like something that doesn't get a lot of feedback. I am 16 and I am playing in combos around town and in my high school's big band. I would like maybe an amp that would be versatile enough to use in both a combo and a big band setting. This is my first real jazz amp purchase(I have a nice Marshall, but I don't like to use it, and a Fender beginner amp.) I don't really know what to look for. I'd say I'm decent at playing. I was looking at either a Hendriksen or something of that nature. Thanks in advance for all your help!

You have to decide if the tube amp or solid state amp sound is what you prefer.

I don't think you can go wrong with a henriksen though. Acoustic image and evans are other worthwhile solid state amps to investigate, as well as jazzkat and AER (both of which I don't like quite as much)

On the tube side you have a ton of choices...fender's never a bad one...I like old ampegs too...

For playing in a school setting, I like light and portable and solid state. I teach high school and run the jazz band, and my amp of choice is a zt lunchbox acoustic right now...

Help

Thanks so much for your help! For a warmer, more mellow sound would you suggest a tube or solid state?

Words like that don't really mean anything...you could argue either...

Who are some players whose sound you like?

Btw, as a fellow hofner player, great choice on guitar...that beauty will sound good thru anything.

Help

Yeah! Thanks! I love it, by far the best guitar I tried in the year or so i was looking for an archtop. And I really love Lage Lund's sound if that helps at all! I really appreciate this!
