Default New Guitar Time....

Check out what I just got!

Brand, Spankin' new. A Gibson ES-335 Dot Plain Top. Came with the HSC & certificate of authenticity. The only thing that's missing is the pickup switch knob. Some guy went through the store stealing every Gibson knob or something. I couldn't find a flaw on this guitar though

Do you know how much I paid? $1,800! I checked the serial number and everything was legit. Do you know where I got it?

Best Buy

If a huge chain like Best Buy starts offering guitars like this (and at these prices), they will crush the other local, smaller independent stores that sell the same brand(s)

Fantastic guitar at an unbelievable price...Congrats !!

ENJOY

Cheers

I left Best Buy wondering if I had a real instrument in my hand. It really seemed too good to be true. This guitar is retailing for around $2,800 right now. It was the only one they had there and they said it was just some sale going on.......right. Almost $1,000 off though? Ha!

It's funny, I went to three music shops with no success finding a plain dot 335. I had to go to Best Buy because I wanted to buy "The Big Lebowski" and I saw they had an instrument section. I figured what the hell. I would never have thought I would have ended up walking out with the guitar I wanted for a ridiculous price though. You couldn't even get these on ebay for that price used.

I sent an email to Gibson just to make sure there weren't cheap parts used on this or something. They basically said there was no funny stuff going on and that it is entirely legit (it was made in 2011).

I gotta say man, I have an Agile AS1000 that I really used to love, but this 335 is way more than I expected. I had an SG Standard that I was a bit underwhelmed with, but this 335 is one of the best guitars I have played. The Agile was really great and for a minute, I was trying to convince myself that it could compete with the 335, but it definitely falls short by a long shot. The AS is still a great instrument for the price and feels great, but I am def. going to be selling it.

BTW, They had a TON of other gear they were selling for dirt cheap, BRAND NEW. I saw a Fender Deluxe Reverb Reissue, still in the box, for $740. They had Supersonics, Vox ac15's, american standard teles, and some other stuff. I don't know if their prices are the same everywhere, but as you can see, they are selling at USED prices for some reason. If I didn't have a DRRI, I would have picked one up. Either way, you guys should see what you can get before these sales end.

I see lesser examples than that one at street prices closer to $3400 around here. I assume mrsp is above that.

Congratulations on the find. Too bad Best Buy has very limited number of stores set up for full instrument sales. None close to me have it.
