Default 1930's L-7's w/ those ' Picture Frame' Inlays Available

FWIW I was just doing some GBase searches, and found three available. The highest was priced @ $3900, and the lowest at $3000.
I own one and love it. These don't show up all that often. They just have such a look to them - -and sound too !
Now if I ever got the nerve to buy another and refinished it blonde- -

Well if you do get the nerve and want another.... and perhaps have something interesting to trade I've got a very nice '37!
Or I'd sell for $2500.
Might save me the go-round of sending it off to archtop.com.

Yes.....very nice guitars with the X-bracing that so many are fond of.

I've got a 35 L7 and it's really a fantastic guitar. It's loud and boomy even with flatwound strings. It has less binding than the L5 but those cool inlays make up for it. Besides, the L7s were made the same as the L5s but the L5's extra binding and heavier inlays does dampen the top a bit more than the L7.

Default " Even with Flatwounds"

I use D'Addario Chromes 12 - 52's. I started with 13/56's and the luthier suggested the lighter gauge would be easier on the top...I've never had a problem, and love the way it sounds and plays....
I sometimes have it hanging on a hook in my living room, and a month ago someone delivering a chair saw it and asked politely of he could take a picture of it for a friend of his. It was sort of the usual ' Never saw one like that - didn't know Gibson ever made one' etc. I always laugh, 'cause I didn't know they made one either until someone told me about them. I was originally looking /dreaming about an L-5, although those continue to be prohibitive - although there are a lot more blonde L-5's than L-7's of this vintage. I don't think I've ever seen a picture frame L-7 in blonde.
Has anyone else??
