Default Fender Princeton 65 1x12 65 watts

Hey guys I was curious if this is a good amp for jazz? I found one for dirt cheap and was curious if it would be worth spending $150 on this. I never heard of these before. Any words of wisdom or conspiracy thoeries on this?
I would mostly use this at living room levels.

Thank you for your time and information

'Mike

It should be fine for sitting around the house, and at that price it's no big deal if you use it for a while and don't like it. In the long run I think you'd be happier with the Ampeg you asked about in the other thread even though it's more expensive.

Thanks Joe. I have the money for Fender but I have heard good things about the older Ampeg stuff(I know Ted Greene was a fan of the Gemini II series amongst others) and if I can save $300 and still have a great sounding tube amp for jazz...why not. I am not a brand snob...

They're not bad amps at all - they do come up on eBay both in the States and in the UK fairly often, so I would have a look at past auctions to see if that's a good price.

FWIW, the Princeton 65's are solid state - not tube.

Indeed the Fender Princton 65 is solid state and not tube but it does produce the Fender clean tone quite well. I think for jazz this would be an excellent amp.

At that price , go for it . It is a Fender . You'll be able to get quite a good jazz sound . I'm using a Fender Frontman 25R in my music room and occassional jams . It works well.
