| | broken speaker my speaker in my cube 80x is broken and I need some of your expierences according to speaker.
The point is, that i think that perhaps a different speaker than the stock roland speaker could improve the sound of the cube. (btw it's seems like you don't get the stock speaker easliy)
Since the cube is a modeling amp i'm quit a bit unsure unconfident with my normal preferences according to speakers. does it make a difference if it's a modeling amp or not if i choose speaker? and if, which specs are important? perhaps i have to add that i just play clean modelings on the cube, which means jc, black panel and sometimes dlx combo.
I would realy appreciate some good advice.
btw i think i'm going to convert my cube into a head since i have two 10" cabs (closed back) left over. at least the idea seems worth trying it, since the actual amp isn't that big. |

| | to be more specific, i have to add that i thought of putting an eminence delta demon or beta 10a into the cab, if i would choose to convert my cube to a head. or is the best solution to choose a PA hifi speaker? |

I think you will be more impressed by the L'il Buddy...but.... speaker choices are a very personal type of thing.
Personally, I would go with a musical instrument/guitar speaker.
If you convert the Cube to a head, all the choices of 2 x 10 inch or 2 x 12 inch speaker cabs could also become very tempting.
Cheers

Dave | thank you for your opinion on that. I thought about the l'il buddy too, but isn't the problem, that the cube provides 80w and the speaker just 50w?
and you're right about the opportunities of different speaker cabs
cheers and thanks again for spending some time on my case |

Dave | Isn't the speaker in the Cube 80 bigger than 10"? If it is 12", a Cannabis Rex would be the equivalent to Lil' Buddy, but it's still only rated to 50Watts, so it can't take all the amp can give without risk of damage. |

| | It's 80w and a 12' speaker. I like Jensen Tornado, it works well in closed backs and it will take some weight of the amp. I assume it's an 8 ohms. |

| | you're both right about the speaker size. it's indeed a 12" speaker, but the idea of choosing a 10" speaker is influenced by the thought of converting this cube into a head. i have two 10" cabs left over.
the point is, that i think the cube hasn't got the best cab and if i just have to use my amp for sessions a 10" cab don't weight as much. the jensen tornado is a good speaker thanks forthe advice.
actually i will buy two different 10" speaker anyway. but i will check some 12" speaker aswell.
thanks for your help to all of you |

| | Hans...Please let us know what you decide to do and which speaker(s) you try/purchase, etc.
Personally, if you consider a C-Rex, I wouldn't worry all that much about the power rating of 50 watts. These rating are typically very conservative.
Cheers

| | just received my emi delta demon today.
this speaker is great. first i put it into my 1x 10" cab and even at low volumes this speaker pronounces well, which was impossible with the cube 80 and it's stock speaker. it's really an improvement and speaking about the sound - i can just say that it seems like having a new amp.
normaly i was just playing the jc, black panel or dlx combo, but now the acoustic-simulator is getting interessting aswell. i won't describe the sound since it's too subjectiv anyway, no matter if it's depending on my ear's or the word's i would choose to explain it.
i hope that i can make some sound samples ready for the weekend, so you can make your own decision.
cheers |

| | Thanks for all the updates.
I'll be very interested in hearing the Delta Demon driven by the Roland.
Cheers
