Ah, feedback issues...
I don't know if there is a difference in feedback between the two amps.
Re: feedback
I often find myself sitting near my amp. It makes a big difference in where I place the amp, I place it to the guitar neck side of me, if I place it on the side closer to the guitar body I'll feedback at pretty low volumes.
If I still get feedback after placing my amp on that side, then I start fiddling with my parametric eq.
I identify the note that is the same pitch as the feedback...
I translate that to a frequency... I know my A notes are 440 220 & 110 hz and the low E is around 80 hz. So I approximate the frequency. For me iit seems to often be around the B note on the 6th string which is about 120 hz.
I dial that frequency into the Parametric eq, pick a narrow Q, and start knocking down the db's until I've tamed the feedback.
So perhaps you want to look for an amp with a parametric eq, or get a pedal. It took me a while to figure out what to do with my amps parametric eq, for me it's exclusively used as a tool to reduce/eliminate feedback. (But when talking about mixing a recording, I use parametric eq's a lot when doing a mixdown, but that's a different topic.)
