True-- definite bummer.

At least next summer is in Montreal.

Also, the Woodstock Invitational was great this year, and most of the exhibiters were also Montreal exhibiters. Small, intimate, and a great program. While not in your backyard, still not too far a drive.

Quebec students stage massive tuition fee protest - Montreal - CBC News

Massive protest! Annual university tuition is $2,168 on average and they want to raise it $325 per year!

Can't you guys find alternative ways to support your GAS? Personally, I wouldn't have any problems with that.

What a bad news...
I felt lucky to live in montreal and have the chance to meet those great luthiers every year...

Is it a good news for the luthiers (especially the young ones who want to be seen)?

for me, it's look like a bad news disguised in a good news...

It is great to see all the different luthiers and their work. I didnt want to be whiner but I have noticed that the past 2 years have been less and less impressive so yeah, I think they are trying to put a positive spin on a bad situation. Just my opinion.

MANY of the Luthiers there were from Quebec. A trip to Calif is more of a strain for them then a 3 hour road trip to montreal.

Unless, of course, one happens to live near Healdsburg.
