Default Any thoughts on tone

Any suggestions on getting the best tone from a Peerless Monarch, medium flatwound and cube 60 set up. I have been using 'Black panel with a touch of reverb I just wonder if anyone else has any preferences.

I used to have a Cube 60. I used to switch between the 'JC Clean' model (no bright switch) for comping and the 'Black Panel' model for soloing. As an alternative, try using the 'Brit Combo' or 'Tweed' models with the gain all the way down. And for a change of pace, try using just a touch of delay instead of reverb.

Thanks for your thoughts, I will check out the Brit combo and tweed settings.

I also sometimes for some rooms use the"acoustic" amp setting with treble turned down, helped warm up the tone a little and make it sound less sterile.

I was not a fan of the blackface model on the Cubes...always sounded over "mid scooped" (BF Fenders are mid scooped, but I thought this was an exaggeration)

I got the best results for a jazz tone with the JC Clean model, EQ pretty much dead flat, running the tone and volume on the guitar around 8-9.

Having read about it in another forum, a surprise jazz sound I got from my Micro Cube is the Classic Stack setting with 0-10 % gain. I really liked that tone tweaked to taste with the tone knobs from the guitar and the amp.

For me the "britt combo" setting (gain at minimum) on the Micro Cube worked the best.
Did'nt try it with other Cubes however.

+1 for most of the above, except I never really used the JC Clean sound much. Still a nice amp though - AZanshin has mine now. Once I lucked into my Henriksen, that was about it for me.
