I played one of these today, and I liked it. It could get very loud, without breaking up. One of the biggest selling points to this amp is this cool knob called a Continuous Power Control.
(from the site)
"Tonal options are almost endless thanks to DV Mark’s patent pending Continuous Power Control (CPC), which allows you to change the power incrementally from the full 40W (class A/B) gradually all the way down to 1W (class A) in pentode mode; or 15W (class A/B) to 0.5W (class A) in triode mode."
Another selling point is the overall great build quality. Here are the specs, as listed on the site:
Power output (CPC):
> pentode: 1 ÷ 40W
> triode: 0.5 ÷ 15W

Speaker size: 2x12” B&C neodymium (custom for DV Mark)
Speaker power handling: 300W (AES standard) – impedance: 8 ohms; can also be connected to an external 8 ohm cabinet*
Size (mm): 684 (w) x 465 (h) x 272 (d)
Size (inch): 26.93” (w) x 18.31” (h) x 10.71” (d)
Weight: 17.00 kg / 37.48 lbs
Double-take, how much does it weigh? 37.48 lbs.
That's the same as my Princeton Reverb, which is a 1x10 tube amp. The DV40 is a 2x12. For reference, that's almost
half the weight of a Twin Reverb, also a 2x12.
I got a
very good sound out of it, too. Darker than the Twin, and less snappy, too. I recommend trying one out, if you have a Guitar Center near you. Which you probably do.
Any experiences with the amp? Heard about it? Seen it, played it, owned it?
