Default LP style 3 position toggle install semi-H

I just got this nice Ibenez artcore semihollow body guitar but its toggle switch is busted. This toggle gots 6 pins to solder. The toggle I see at the guitar center are 4 pins ( 3 on one side and one on the other ).

The shop said it would cost $70 dollars to fix. Is it easy to solder? How do the wires go?

If you haven't done much soldering and haven't worked on a semi-hollow, I would agree with Ron and have the shop do it.

I would ask the shop to replace the faulty switch with an "open" style switch (rather than the the often seen, inferior switches that have a metal box/enclosure around the switching system). The open style are more expensive, but much more reliable.

Cheers

Dave

I've soldered before( circuitry and copper pipes)

I also took the toggle switch out of the guitar thru the f-hole with the wires still connected. That is why I know it has 6 pins.

My question is how is it wired?

My current 6 pin was a white wire(I think output) connected to 3 of the pins in parallel. This makes me think the 6 pins are redundant. I can't actually see where the other wires come from because its hidden in the body but I have a good Idea what they must be.

Is the 4 pin(3 x 1) toggle wired like
3: inputA, output, inputB
1: ground

in other words

3: From VolumeA, to guitar jack, From VolumeB
1: Braided ground wire
