Default Fender Mustang II

I know this has been addressed before but I wasn't paying attention! Do any of you have experience with and opinions about the Fender Mustang II Amp? I'm considering buying one for my Son's birthday.

Thanks,

David

How old is your son and what type of music does he play? I've heard some decent things about the Mustang III (no experience with the II).

In the meantime a quick Google search turned up a bunch of reviews:

fender mustaing II review - ????? ?-Google

I picked up a Mustang II around Memorial day this Summer. I think its a very good amp all around especially if you connect the amp to a PC and use the Fuse software to tweek the tones which is alot of fun since there are so many parameters you can adjust.

I play mostly clean using the Deluxe Reverb and Twin Reverb models, and it really captures that clean Fender tone remarkably well. If your son likes to play with dirt, its does a super job with over-driven tones as well, and even the non-fender models (Vox & Marshall) sound great.

I spent the afternoon in a music store and came away with Cube 40. I play clean and have an external sound card. I never did get a good feeling for or sound out of the II. What your son can do with it is everybodys guess. Good luck! You ought to get him to try one, even if you have to play undercover like you want a new amp yourself.

I have the Mustang I and I think it really is a great amp. They are really great amps for the money and they are having a tough time getting bad reviews.

The only real issue these amps are seeming to have are the digital hiss issues. I did a bit of research and it either comes down to a firmware update in the amp which fender has released, or to just keep exchanging the amp until you get one that doesn't have the Fizz issue.

My friend purchased a Mustang III a couple of months ago and he got one that doesn't have the Fizzing issue.

I would say go for it.
