Nice! You have more guitars than I can keep track of!
Good luck on the sale! I hope you put the money up towards a Colligns eastside deluxe/sweet 16!

These are wonderful instruments and this is a fantastic price. I ended up buying the P-175 that Jack Zucker can be seen playing in several youtube videos (although the pickup had been switched to a Charlie Christian style single coil). Tom Painter is also very nice to deal with if you have follow-up. The sound of my P-175 is, indeed, very 'acoustic'. Really lovely tone and beautiful craftsmanship.

I'm sure it was ordered specificly with that pickguard. For the $3500 Tom Painter will put on any pickguard you want - also an ebony one. The same goes for the outer visible veneers of the plywood, the peghead veneer etc. You can choose a mahogany (laminated or one-piece) or maple neck. He'll make custom neck and fretboard dimensions, and you can have a "naked" fingerboard or have dot positions markers. He'll put on the pickup you want and place it where you want it. And as for the rest of the hardware like tuners, it's also your choice.

What he doesn't do is bindings. Instead he makes the plywood with a center ply of a contrasting color - for example a mahogany center ply with an outer curly maple ply in pale amber finish - and bevels the edges, so the contrasting ply serves as an edge marking. That's possible as he maks his own plywood. Also, he dosn't do inlaying apart from optional dot fretboard markers. The fretboard is bound, though, with a strip of ebony hiding the fret ends just like a normal plastic binding would do.

Hey guys,
Could we keep this thread focused on my sale? I'd really appreciate it!

Maybe someone could start a new thread on Tom Painter for further discussion.

Thanks!

OK - but we speak nicely about the Painter instruments which might ease your sale. And your sales post gets bumped.

Good luck with your sale! I wish I was in the market, but I can say that I've played a few Painters and was very impressed. They are great guitars and your price is excellent.
