Thanks. | The main reason was for use in other genres also, I still play jazz, but have also returned to the music of my youth...the 60's and seventies...

Curious, why not an ES335? |

| | I have the same question although sometimes I feel my 335 copy is too much of a compromise - not perfect for rock or jazz. I miss my Les Paul Special when I have pop gigs and my X-500 on my jazz gigs. |

| | not at all
i love LPs (have a few myself)
and i think they are actually rather versatile, and can easily be dialed in for a punchy powerful jazz sound as well as others
and, i think your color is particularly cool |

Congrats on the LP. Looks fantastic. I've been crazy GASsing for one lately too. |

| | I had a 54 LP Custom reissue and I really liked it. The only problem I had was the weight on my left shoulder. It was one of the guitars I sold to get my D'A. It was a great instrument with a lot of potential. |

| | I like Les Pauls a lot, including for jazz! Sonny Sharrock is my favorite LP-slinging jazz cat (apart from the namesake, of course) |

| | I was just curious - I don't think a Les Paul is bad choice for jazz at all, I have a 68 Gold Top and a Heritage 535, the semi-hollowbody is more versatile and crosses genres better imo. |

| | Q: Who uses a Les Paul for jazz?
A: How about Les Paul himself? |

An ES-335 has to narrow fretboard, I have a pinky injury that demands wider fretboards, so that's why not...
She plays excellent, looks gorgeous and even smells good...that's my Paula

| | You SHOULD be ashamed! What kind of guitar player gets rid of a good guitar? You COLLECT! That's what they make selling your relatives for.
David
Nice move by the way. Be happy |

| | Thanks for posting, now I don't feel so bad. I just started playing a Strat, but I kept all my archtops and just bought a few Strats.

/Jokron | With respect to my guitars, the only thing that smells is my playing! |
