Default Vol + Tone in a little box ?

Anyone know somebody who makes a box containing
just a single Vol and Tone knob
the electronics of a single PU guitar mounted in a box
I want to put a floating PU on my Hofner President
and mount the control box onto the tailpiece

I dont really want to mount the controls inside the guitar if poss
I don't get on very well with pickgards

I could make one up I guess but although it might work electronically
it probably wouldn't be very pretty !

Cheers me dears

I'd suggest getting a luthier or guitar tech to mount the controls on your pickguard. If you want to be able to return your guitar to stock, buy a second pickguard and mod that one.

Why not mount those low-profile thumb wheels inside the f-holes? You could just drill a tiny hole under the pickup to run the wire. You could mount them with double-sided foam tape. Here is a Mark Campellone that has thumbwheels only (look very closely at the treble f-hole)

You could also find an old DeArmond control box which is exactly what you describe but they are rare and pricey. I would rather have the thumb wheels. Less effect on the acoustic sound.

Didn't vega guitars have a tailpiece-mounted control scheme?

Edit: yup. Vega Duotron

Yeah the Vega tailpiece kinda thing is what I was thinking of
I might try making something like that

A monkey stick (with a Rhythm chief) would be ideal
but they are B I G money

thanks guys

Maybe the Schaller jazz pickup? It might require some work.

Only problem with the TC20 and TC30 is they are for piezo pu (wrong impedance match) If you use the humbucker you need 500K pots
check here look at the humbucker three and pretend the threeway switch is gone...thats the type of circuit you want.
Its getting the circuit a small box attached to your tailpiece thats the hard part...I'll look around for a solution.
